Program Details
On our summer program which runs annually during the months of June, July and August, you will have the opportunity to volunteer as an English teacher, experience authentic Italian culture, and see various regions and cities throughout Italy. All the while, you will be able to practice your Italian, get to know an incredible group of people, make lasting friendships, and learn more about yourself than you thought possible! One month as a volunteer English teacher at Experience Summer Camp in various locations including:

Canazei in Trentino

Requirements & Eligibility

This program is only open to U.S. citizens
Program Requirements:
-
Teaching or leadership experience, be it tutoring, coaching, as a camp counselor, or other similar roles
-
Personable, fun-loving, and interested in working with youth!

Conversational language skills in Italian, equivalent to a CEFR level A2, or approximately two semesters of a language course is recommended but not required
-
There is no maximum age limit for the program, though you must be at least 18 years old to apply.

This program runs once annually during summer between mid June and early August. The dates vary slightly year to year. In 2024, the Italy program took place from June 24th to August 6th.
Program Costs:

The 2025 program is priced at $2,500, paid in two installments. The first is a $500 deposit. The second is a $2,000 program fee. The cost of airfare is not included in program tuition.
Application Timeline:​

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis between November 1st and May 15th. Your spot is confirmed upon the receipt of your $500 non-refundable deposit. The remainder of the program tuition is due by June 1st.

WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM TAKE PLACE?

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROGRAM COST?
Program prices vary slightly from year to year. For 2025, the Italy program is priced at $2,500. The cost of airfare is not included in program tuition.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
This program is only open to U.S. citizens. Additionally, ideal candidates will have conversational language skills in Italian, equivalent to a CEFR level A2, or approximately two semesters of a language course. Finally, candidates will have some teaching experience, be it tutoring, coaching, as a camp counselor, or other equivalent experience.

Please contact us if you do not match these qualifications but are still interested in applying. We will be happy to discuss your case. As long as you are willing to pursue some independent language study prior to the program and seek out a volunteer teaching opportunity, we would happily consider you as a candidate.

The program is priced such that participants will incur no expenses while in country, other than non-essential personal expenses. These might include desserts, souvenirs, and any other purchases that would not otherwise be necessary for the successful completion of the program. WHAT ARE THE ACCOMMODATIONS?
A key component of all of our programs are host family accommodations. We try for each participant to have their own host family, though depending on availability two participants may end up with the same family. In addition to the time spent with host families, we will also stay in Airbnb's or hotels when we travel as a group, and for the Italy program hotel accommodation will be provided for the duration of time spent at camp.
