Colombia Teaching Immersion
Looking for an opportunity to teach internationally? Have a desire to learn Spanish and explore Latin America? If so, our teaching immersion program is perfect for you! Through our partnership with a number of Colombian schools, you will have the opportunity to visit Colombia for a year or longer, while working or volunteering as a teacher.
The Program
Program Details
Through our partnership with a number of Colombian high schools, you will have the opportunity to come to the capital city of Colombia, Bogotá, to work as a teacher! The program has a minimum duration of one semester, though preference will be given to applicants who express interest in staying longer than a year. Specific teaching duties will vary based on the needs of the host school.
Requirements & Eligibility
Program Eligibility:

This program is open to U.S. citizens, Italian citizens, and citizens of other countries whose speak English at a native level
Program Requirements:

Ability to speak and understand conversational Spanish ​(B1)

Possess a bachelor's degree from the U.S. or Laurea Magistrale from Italy

Experience teaching the subject you intend to teach in Colombia. If you aspire to teach English to non-native speakers, then your experience can include time spent as a tutor or volunteer.
What's Included?
The program includes:​

Paid teaching placement at school in Colombia. Placements are for a semester or an academic year, with an opportunity for renewal. Priority will be given to candidates with interest and availability for longer stays.

Paperwork associated with obtaining visa for long term stay in Colombia

Accompaniment through administrative process associated with arrival, process of finding housing, etc.

Regular check-ins and monitoring to ensure successful completion of program
Program Dates & Costs

The program will have two start dates annually, in July and in January. Exact program dates will vary depending on the needs and academic calendar of the host school. If you are interested, please reach out to us early to help ensure placement.
Program Costs:

The program has a total cost of $850.00 USD, paid in two installments. The first is a registration fee of $100.00, and the second is a program fee of $750.00.

The above costs do not include airfare, costs associated with obtaining the visa, or medical insurance.
Application Timeline:

We accept program applications year round, though preference is given to candidates who submit all application materials three months before the start of the program. June 1st for September starts, and October 1st for January starts.
