U.S. Au Pair Program
Combine your love of kids and desire to experience the U.S. by becoming an Au Pair! Through this program, you will have the opportunity to live with a family in the U.S. helping to take care of their children, and will get paid to do so! The Program
Program Details
As an Au Pair, you will be placed with a U.S. family and will help take care of their children. You will be responsible for 45 hours of work per week, and in exchange will receive room, board, and regular payment. The program has a minimum commitment of 12 months, though you might just decide to extend for a second year!

This program is open to citizens of all countries, except the U.S.

Program Requirements:

Ability to speak and understand conversational English ​(B1)

High school graduate or equivalent

Minimum of 200 hours of childcare experience

Must pass a background check investigation, medical check, and detailed screening process

Availability for 12 month program

A strong, demonstrated interest in caring for young children

Au Pairs may begin their program at any point during the year, though host families are often looking for Au Pairs to begin in June or December.
Program Costs:
-
Program cost varies according to the applicant's country of origin. For European applicants, the program has a total cost of $600.00 USD. For Latin American applicants, the program has a total cost of $450.00

Payments are made in two installments. The first is a registration fee of $75.00, and the second is a program fee of $525.00 for European applicants or $375.00 for Latin American applicants.

Applicants must show proof of at least $1,000 USD or its equivalent in local currency for J-1 visa issuance

We accept program applications year round, though we recommend that candidates apply several months in advance of their intended start date.

To help ensure successful placement, candidates looking to begin in the summer (June) should try to have applications submitted by or before March.

7. Apply for Visa
Receive your visa documents and apply for your J-1 visa.
8. Book Flights
If your visa application is approved, it's time to book your flights!
9. Travel to U.S.
